the dangers of putting msg in our foods

I just came back from a trip to Tulsa and had to eat in different restaurants in between meetings. MSG galore, my friends! After a few days of that unhealthy substance, I had enough. So the next time we went to the restaurant, I thought I should order a salad and probably will get away from it…. but no. MSG was again present.

Pretty sad when you consider that so many Americans today will eat meals containing MSG on a regular basis.

Look around on the internet and you will find a ton of information on the effects of MSG (Monosodium glutamate). Of course, it’s not only used in restaurants but also in thousands of grocery products. You’ll find MSG on the shelves of your local food store that sells commercial, mainstream brands.

Basically, health is a personal concern. And if you are concerned about yours and wish to improve or continue to eat healthy, take a moment and read some of these articles. Of course this is a controversial topic:

Harmful Effects of MSG — A Sneaky Toxic Substance

When you eat organic or buy at the farmers market pesticide-free fruit and vegetables, you are directly contributing a healthier condition.

Here’s another article that’s absolutely inspiring in terms of not using MSG:

You will find great info in the following article, including references to deepen your understanding of the realities of MSG:

The goal of life is not to worry only about eating but eating healthy can help achieve your goals in life.

What I find sad is that people are too busy watching hours of TV everyday to spend some time reading about these aspects of life that could just help them improve their life style. Make it a regular practice to read. Let go of the video games and spend some time researching. People should take advantage of the internet to dig in.

Same goes with much of the food that you have delivered to your place. You will find MSG in burgers, pizzas, salads, sandwiches, etc, etc…. the list goes on and on. Feel free to ask the people taking your order if there is MSG in the food they serve.

MSG used to be associated with Chinese restaurants more than anything else. Today, you’ll find it in so many fast food and non fast food restaurants.

Together we can help make a change.
